The Anoka Hennepin School District runs an in district Lego Robotics program in the middle schools (six schools, 12 teams). It is patterned after First Lego League tournaments. There are three rotating scenarios so that a middle school student will have a different experience each year of middle school. The three scenarios are: Climate Connections, Smart Move and Power Puzzle. We use EV3 robots. Lego Robotics meets in the spring and concludes with an all day Saturday district tournament in April. Teams can earn recognition in several different areas: mission points, head to head, robot design, mission engineering, and teamwork.
Team Dill Pickles earned three different awards at the 2018 tournament.
