Research is a systematic, rigorous process of critical thinking and solving problems.
Research is what we do to find the truth: to question, to inquire, to be curious. It's not something only scientists do - business people, baseball players, artists, etc. are all engaged in different forms of research. All of us do research when we do such common tasks as comparing products before we buy a new cell phone or computer or car.
